Facebook now is not only prohibiting pages and groups anymore.
The popular social networking app on Thursday announced that it had recently banned several high profiles accounts for violating the rules of the platform against dangerous organization and individuals.
Among the people who were recently banned from facebook are political commentator, Alex Jones, and Louis Farrakhan.
In a statement, a Facebook spokesman said that Facebook has always banned users or organizations which promote hate speech or engage in violence regardless of their ideology. The spokesperson also said that the method they use to evaluate potential violators is an extensive one and it is the one which made them come up with that decision and ban those high profile accounts.
The crackdown of accounts comes at a time when Facebook has decided to do whatever it takes to get rid of hate speech and bullying of people on the social media networking site.
In March the company also banned praise support and the representation of white supremacy and white nationalism from facebook.
The accounts had not yet been pulled down from Facebook by Thursday in the afternoon.
The ban of high profile people from Facebook is among some of the latest strategies used to clean up the social media network.
In the past few months, Facebook has also been banning antivaccination posts and pages and groups which usually spread banned content in social media.
The company has also revealed a lot of user’s passwords to employees.
