Seth Moulton, Massachusetts Rep, is the latest Democrat to join the 2020 presidential race.
Moulton who is a lawmaker and Iraq war veteran announced on Monday on his website that he was joining the 2020 presidential race.
Moulton became famous in 2014 after unseating John Tierney in a democratic primary and went ahead to represent the state in the 6th congressional district.
Rumors of Moulton running for presidency have been there since 2017 after speaking in a democratic rally in Lowa. During the rally, he evaded talking about the presidential run.
Last year Moulton helped other military veterans to run for congress – something which he continues to do till today. In a recent tweet, Moulton said that 16 years ago leaders in Washington sent him and his friends to fight a war which was based on lies and that the lies still go on till today. He said that it is now time for the generation that went to fight in Iraq to take over from the generation that sent them there.
Moulton has also been a popular critic of Donald Trump.
Despite occasionally having differences with some of the most liberal wing party Moulton has gambled with some of the most popular policy positions for the people wanting to venture into the Democratic presidential race.
He has called health care a right which every American should have, toughened the gun laws, was part of the Green new deal, has called for an end to the electoral college.
Moulton is officially the third political figure from Massachusetts to vie for the presidency.
